Microporous filter membrane is made by using polymer chemical materials and pore forming additives, which are specially treated and applied on the support layer. In the application of membrane separation technology, microporous filter membrane is the most widely used type of membrane, which is simple, fast, and widely used in many fields such as scientific research, food detection, chemical industry, nanotechnology, energy, and environmental protection. The microporous filter membrane is mainly made of refined nitrocellulose, added with an appropriate amount of cellulose acetate, acetone, n-butanol, ethanol, etc. It is hydrophilic, non-toxic and hygienic, and is a porous thin film filter material. The pore size distribution is relatively uniform and penetrative, with a pore size of up to 80 ‰. Mainly used for filtering aqueous solutions, it is also known as aqueous membranes.
The pore size is relatively uniform, with high porosity, no medium detachment, thin texture, low resistance, fast filtration rate, and minimal adsorption.
Flammable, attention should be paid to sealing, moisture prevention, and fire prevention during storage.
Microporous filter membranes can be divided into hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity.
From a structural analysis, the microporous filter membrane is an extremely thin filter membrane with a porous sponge like structure inside. The common pore size range is 0.1 micrometers to 10 micrometers. At present, manufacturers of microporous filter membranes classify them according to their morphological differences:
Flat Sheet Membrane, Hollow Fiber Membrane, and Tubular Membrane. Among them, flat thin paper filter membranes can be further divided into two types based on their structural differences: unsupported flat thin paper filter membranes and supported flat thin paper filter membranes. According to the requirements of technology required for the manufacturing of both, the production process of "unsupported flat paper filter membrane" is more precise and complex than that of "supported flat paper filter membrane".
